Are Makita Power Tools as good as they say?

I’m trying to find out if Makita makes decent power tools, from what I’ve read online even their general models are strong, and long lasting. Every review I’ve read about them is positive, does everyone agree?

Personally, I wouldn’t buy another Makita tool. In the past I bought some but was very dissatisfied. Now I buy Porter cable. I’ve used Dewalt on the job and they’re alright too.

Well, if you watch Monster House on Discovery Channel it should answer your question.
Those volunteers work really hard to have the Makita tools offered on the show. It must be desireable by those professionals.
Don’t you think?
