Craftsman Cordless Drill; Battery Charger won’t light up when I put the battery in?

Fred asked:
I have a Craftsman 14.4 volt cordless drill and when I put the battery in it won’t light up. Does this mean the battery is dead or the charger is no good? Thank you:)
